“So many families are feeling the pinch these days,” CBS4 General Manager Walt DeHaven said.

“CBS4 is eager to help the community by providing experts to answers questions and help guide families during this trying economic time.”

Beating the Recession is a CBS4 program launched last month.  Colorado has been hit hard by the economic recession. Coloradans, however, are taking a stand and finding solutions in their effort to beat this recession and CBS4 is helping by not simply reporting the number of job losses each day, but by producing stories that are inspiring, spark ideas and provide helpful advice.  CBS4 is producing nearly 15 stories each week under the Beating the Recession brand and the station is airing a Beating the Recession story during every CBS4 newscast.  All CBS4 reporters and anchors are involved in this station-wide initiative and stories range from where to find affordable hair salons to how to shop on a budget or how to beat the recession with a money makeover -- free of charge -- from a financial advisor.
